The 2020 Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the Georgian Society of Jamaica will take place on Thursday 27 February 2020 at 6:15 for 6:30pm at The Jamaican High Commission, 1-2 Prince Consort Road, London, SW7 2BZ

The first part of the AGM meeting from 6:30-7:15pm is for members only. The AGM will be followed at approximately 7:15pm with a talk by FGSJ member, Antony Maitland. 

“From a Privateer to a (small) Jamaican Dynasty – Roving Sea Captains to St Elizabeth Pen Keepers”

Antony will tell a story of how a father and son, both Merchant Captains and Traders, fell foul on the American War of Independance. Then via hurricane and shipwreck, started a mixed race Jamaican family in St Elizabeth.

The talk is open to anyone to attend and will be followed by FGSJ famous rum punch and patties.
