Collision : Jamaican and European Worlds – a Webinar

The Archaeological Society of Jamaica is hosting a virtual webinar on the nature of contact and sustained interaction between the Indigenous people of Jamaica and early European colonialism.

Dr. Ivor Conolley (Genesis Project/Conolley Services, Jamaica), Dr. David Burley (Simon Fraser University, Canada), and Dr. Robyn Woodward (Simon Fraser University, Canada) will discuss what archaeology reveals about the nature of this collision. Also, how patterns of Indigenous-European interaction affected exploration, settlement, exchange, identity formation, and everyday life in Jamaica in the first half of the 16th century.

All are welcome to participate but must register in advance.
